How the fief feeds you, in three tiers.
- Poor houses serve the workers: filling, unrefined, and made from whatever the kitchen could scrounge. One or two dishes a day, and you'll eat what's in the pot.
- Common houses are the fief's backbone — soldiers, merchants, and travelers who can afford a real meal. Two or three dishes rotate daily; the cellar is proper, if not refined.
- Fancy houses cook to impress, with imported ingredients beside the best of the marsh. Four or five dishes, something sweet after, and a cellar with things in it you've only heard about.
- Stock is a dice roll. The cellar list never changes; what's actually in the casks tonight does. Prices swing 10–25% with the season and the state of the trade roads — the menu shows the usual ask.
- Bottles and casks. Wines, spirits and the specialist drinks can be bought by the bottle: 5 portions for the price of 4. Beer and cider come by the cask: 10 portions for the price of 8. Expand any drink to see what the vessel costs here.
- Beds are standardized by tier across the fief. Individual houses may haggle. Individual houses may also have fleas.
